What is Apprenticeship?

The Apprenticeship Programme is a structured training system under the Apprentices Act, 1961, which allows companies to hire young individuals (apprentices) and train them in real work environments. It bridges the gap between education and employment by offering on-the-job training combined with theoretical instruction.

➤ As per the Act, it is mandatory for establishments with 30 or more employees to engage apprentices, making it both a legal and strategic workforce solution.

    1. Under NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme), Employees can receive reimbursement of up to ₹1500 per apprentice per month directly into their account.
    2. Under NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme), candidates get direct support of ₹4000 to ₹4500 per month from the Government of India.
  2. ✔️ No PF & ESI Liability: Employers are exempted from contributing towards PF and ESI for apprentices engaged under the Apprentices Act.
  3. ✔️ CSR Fund Utilization: All stipend paid to apprentices beyond 2.5% of the total workforce can be booked under CSR expenses by the company.
